Logwood No. 4

$37.00

100 gram of 4 ply, 8 ply and 10 ply South Australian Polwarth wool. Hand dyed with wood extract from the Logwood tree and Golden Wattle, resulting in a dark blue. Approx. 390m 4 ply, 190m 8 ply, and 120m 10 ply.

Our wool is of exceptional quality and handles beautifully. Raised and dyed in South Australia. Scoured, milled and spun in Victoria. This is uniquely 100% Australian made and natural. All of our colours beautifully contrast with one another and can be matched for colourwork, naturally complimentary like nature intended.

Colour is light and wash fast thanks to the natural qualities of the plant. We strive for colour consistency however, with nature our colours can vary. If you require exactly the same colour for one project please purchase together to ensure skeins are from the same batch.

Some colour may wear on your hands when knitting or when initially washed. This is called crocking (click on crocking to find out more). It will not run into other colours it is knitted with in colour work. This is common with hand dyed yarns, especially when we do not use chemicals to set colour. This is more common with darker colours, especially this Logwood No. 4. If this doesn’t sound like something you’d be okay with choose a lighter colour.

Please handle our wool with care. Proudly we do not treat our wool with super wash or easy care treatment so always hand wash, use a gentle and environmentally friendly wool wash and dry flat out of direct sunlight.

Our wool comes in skeins but if you prefer a ball, please let us know at Checkout in the Note section and we’ll wind it for you.
