Botanically dyed wool.
Locally grown, milled and dyed.
Nomad fibres are 100% Australian made and botanically hand dyed.
Uniquely, every step of production is done locally. Our wool is grown on Polwarth sheep, raised using regenerative farming practices in South Australia. It is cleaned, milled and spun in Victoria and hand dyed with plants on our farm in Finniss, SA.
Wool of exceptional quality to handle and colours of nature that are good for you and good for the land.
We take care in minimising the environmental and social impacts every step of the way. Our product is 100% traceable, supports local small businesses and leaves minimal waste and environmental damage. Our botanical colours are all natural and we guarantee that no harsh chemicals have been used so again, land and human health wins. Unlike many synthetic dyes, our natural dyes are healthy to have against your skin, shed nothing nasty into our waterways and decompose naturally.
We are so confident in our wool’s natural qualities that we will receive any wool that you no longer require to compost here at Nomad Farms, returning it to the land from which it came to help grow more pasture for future generations of sheep and other Nomad animals.
We also produce a small number of hemp and silk pieces, hand dyed from our spent botanical dye baths, ensuring no dye is wasted.
Like nature, our colours change with the seasons. See our current range below.
