Nomad Farms is a family owned and run farm in the Finniss Valley on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia. We produce a range of uncertified organic, pasture raised produce of the highest quality. Our production methods, uniquely, regenerate landscapes, and it is the principle of regeneration - ecologically, socially and economically - upon which our business is based.
In our few years of setting up the farm, we are proud of achievements so far including winning the 2015 South Australian Landcare Award for Innovation in Sustainable Farm Practices, finalists in the 2016 National Landcare Awards, winning SA Delicious Produce Award 2017 and are currently in the finals for the National Delicious Awards.
Nomad Farms was established by farmers Tom Bradman and Verity Slee. Tom is a full time farmer who grew up on a small scale farm in the Adelaide Hills before working on sustainable agricultural policy in Canberra. Determined not to sit at a desk his whole life, and wanting to return to SA, Tom is now pursuing his dream of putting innovative principles to practice in establishing this family-run regenerative farm.
Nomad Farms was the name dreamt up while staring out a cold Canberra window many years ago. It embodies the constant movement of all our animals across the farm which is so crucial to our systems, the constant state of change of the natural systems we mimic in our regeneration effort, and of course our desire not to become a mad farm, which we think there might be a few of, so we say NO MAD FARMS!
At Nomad Farms we produce 100% grass fed nomadic beef, nomadic pasture-raised meat chooks and occasionally some other delights. We also strive to share our knowledge and resources hosting various workshops and tours. If you like what we do, talk to us as we can also build various 'farm tech' equipment to assist you in running some regenerative animals on the bit of dirt you're looking after.
